The Host (2006) | HQ L02
The story follows the Park family, who must rescue their youngest member, Hyun-seo, after she is abducted by a terrifying amphibious creature that emerges from the Han River. As the family—led by the bumbling but determined father, Gang-du—embarks on a desperate mission, they face not only the monster but also bureaucratic hurdles and misinformation. Through its deft genre subversion and incisive social commentary, The Host serves as a compelling critique of institutional incompetence and environmental recklessness.
Presented in 35mm. Post-screening reception in the lobby outside HQ L02.

With mounting pressure and few solid leads, their pursuit grows increasingly desperate, blurring the lines between justice and obsession. As years pass and the case remains unsolved, the haunting reality of their failure lingers, leaving both the detectives and the town forever change

Parasite (2019) | HQ L02
Bong Joon-ho’s Parasite follows the financially struggling Kim family as they con their way into working for the wealthy Park family by posing as highly qualified professionals. As they infiltrate the Parks' lavish home, their scheme takes a dark turn when they discover a shocking secret hidden in the basement. Tension escalates as deception, greed, and class struggle collide. The film masterfully blends the genres of dark comedy, thriller, and social commentary, breeding equal parts pathos and indictment.
